Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Jan 20
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from two climats, the majority from Les Beaux Bruns. This cru seemed to be missing some lift and energy on the nose, coming across rather static in the glass. The fleshy, ripe palate offers maraschino cherries, raspberry preserve and a touch of white pepper. Forward and willing to please, yet not a profound Chambolle-Musigny.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
